Baby activities 2 month old
1. Tummy time ♡ Bond with your baby
Tummy time is a perfect moment to bond with your baby. And, catch the first smile! It is important for baby’s body development that she start to spend (more) time on her belly.
Tummy time is a beautiful moment to connect together. As baby will love to look at you. A beautiful moment to smile at each other!
This is easiest when you place your baby (tummy down) on your chest. When she lifts her head up, she sees the loving face of mama or daddy. ♡
2. Music and dancing
Music and dancing is all babies favourite! As baby starts to open up all of her senses she notices music more. Start dancing while holding or wearing your baby.

You will notice they love it! Depending on the music it is a perfect activity to let them discover new sounds and rhythms. Dancing can also be a way to let baby fall asleep. Just like us, babies have a different taste for music.
While Saoirse falls asleep to Mantra music and loves dancing on house music. Her best friend River Rey loves to dance on Reggae music and falls a sleep to Techno. So, explore what music your baby likes best!
Baby’s music taste is influenced by the music you play during your pregnancy. As babies hear the sounds around them. One of Saoirse’s favourite is Koshi music.
3. Koshi music meditation
Koshi music meditation is a great way to relax your baby. At the end of my yoga classes I used to play the Koshi. Already while playing the Koshi in my belly Soairse started to kick. She loved it! And still does.
A great way to relax baby is by holding the Koshi above and around baby. You might notice that she starts following the sounds. Just like us, babies calm down from certain tones of music.
The Koshi is one of those meditation instruments. The good thing is, you don’t need to be a professional musician to play them. As they are wind chimes they basically play themselves. Now Saorise is a bit older I hang them above her with the baby gym. And she is “playing” them herself. She loves to make music! And these meditative sounds relaxes mama too.
If I needed to choice one “toy” for Saoirse I definitely go with the Koshi. It is her favourite! And sustainable, as you can use them infinitely.
4. Walking in nature full sensory
Walking in nature full sensory, is different than just a walk outdoors. A good way to calm down your baby is by taking them outdoors. It literally helps every time. Nature is healing.
Tons of research show how healthy nature time is for baby. Walking in nature is essential for a happy, healthy baby.
Use all senses outdoors
While hitting the two month mark baby’s senses are more developed. Therefore, 2 months old is a perfect time to introduce smelling and touching. Which you can do with all the plants around you. Let baby smell the flowers, touch the leaves, feel the trees.
Saoirse loves to smell and touch Rosemary and Lavender. That we find on our mountain.
It is also a mindfulness activity for mama. Use all your senses to explore the world around. And, be amazed how many flowers, trees, and plants there are. Even on the side of the road! See the world like a newborn: full sensory. And be amazed by all the beauty around!
5. Reading to your baby
If you haven’t started reading to your baby yet, now is a perfect moment to do so. Now baby starts to use all senses she will love reading time.
First of all, to hear you reading a story. Which is an essential way to improve language development. Secondly, baby now starts to see better. Therefore, she will love to see the book. Especially those in black and white or bright colours. Also, baby’s touch is developing. So baby enjoys touching the books. And, feel the different sensory parts some books have.
Saoirse also loves the finger puppets in some books we have. And rewards reading with a big smile!
We listed our favourite books which also includes touch and play here.
