Breastfeeding meditation: heart to heart connection

Breastfeeding meditation, feel your heart to heart connection.

Get energy from breastfeeding

When experiencing the heart to heart connection you get energy from breastfeeding.

Our baby Saoirse loves milk. And loves breastfeeding. In her first cluster-feeding weeks. This is when babies want to feed constantly. it felt so draining. Although, this totally changed when I started to meditate while breastfeeding. From this moment on breastfeeding GIVES me energy.

Anahata Breastfeeding Meditation

During breastfeeding connect with your heart centre. The Anahata chakra. Go there with all your attention and awareness. Taking long deep breaths in and out. Connecting fully with your heart. Then connect with the heart of your precious baby. Stay there, breath there. And feel your hearts melting and expanding together.

Anahata breastfeeding meditation

This meditation immerses you with the love you share.

Allow yourself to surrender fully. And you will feel high vibrations in your heart and beyond. This heart to heart connection gives so much energy! From that moment on, breastfeeding is a recharge for mama too.

Bonding by Eye Gazing

Bonding by eye gazing is so special. As you connect with the soul of your baby. It is an indescribable feeling.

Look your precious little one deep in the eyes. Full of love for your baby. Look until you see the universe in their eyes. Although babies can’t talk in words – just yet. With eye-gazing, you communicate on a soul to soul level.

When to start?

When your baby starts to have a clear vision. And is ready to engage with the world around.

We started eye-gazing when Saoirse was around three months. As before she didn’t have a clear vision yet. Now, our baby Saoirse loves eye-gazing. Which usually brings her to laughter. And fills me with so much love, energy and magic.

A magical heart expansion.

Skin to skin and Pranayama

Skin to skin time. Is basically your naked baby on your skin. Which is super important for baby’ development. Again, this is a beautiful moment to connect heart to heart. Combine this with pranayama – breathing techniques. Which relaxes your mind and opens your soul. In this way, you are able to connect on a deep level.

How to prepare

First of all, find yourselves a comfortable place. If the weather allows being outdoor is ideal. If you have a hammock this is the place to be! Otherwise, choose a relaxing chair, sofa or bed. Secondly, place your baby on your left chest. As this is the place your heart is located. Place one hand on baby’s back at the centre of the heart. With your other hand, you can hold her bottom. Don’t be too fixated on how you are holding your baby. Just be sure you both feel comfortable. And, preferably, heart to heart.

Pranayama

Pranayama is the power of breath. It is also called: conscious breathing. Which is used often in yoga. And Ayurvedic, Indian, traditions.

The breath is the gateway out of your mind. Into your heart.

When you are holding your baby: heart to heart. Start following your breath. You want to take deep inhalations. And even longer exhales.

Breath in deeply: 8 counts. Feel the breath going all the way into your heart. Your baby is raising while your belly is fully expending. Try to hold your breath for as long as possible. Then slowly exhale 12 counts.

Skin to Skin Pranayama practise

Prolonged exhalations is a great way to calm the mind

Change the number of counts of breathing to whatever number feels good for you. When practising frequently, you can slowly bring the number of breaths up. Be sure to have longer exhales, though. Because prolonged exhalations is a great way to calm the mind.

Letting go of the mind

Let go of the mind, connect with the soul of your baby. With this breathing exercise, your mind shuts off. While making space for your soul to open. As a result, you connect deeply with the soul of your baby.

Bonding from heart to heart

Allow your heart to expand. And feel the love you share for each other.
